In the past few months, we have been hearing the news that new cars are coming to Pakistan, which will increase the competition level among the known automotive manufacturers. Recently, Indus Toyota has launched their new SUV by the name of Toyota Rush in Pakistan. This new SUV by Toyota belongs to the second generation, while previously its first generation variant was not able to increase its sales in the automotive industry of Pakistan. Now the real question that arises in many consumers in Pakistan that will it be able to compete with other current seven-seater entry-level SUVs in Pakistan. The most selling seven-seater entry-level SUV in Pakistan is none other than the Honda BRV. In this blog, I will be doing a detailed comparison of both these SUVs and let the consumer decide which is better than the other.
In Pakistan, Honda BRV price in Pakistan starts from Rs.22,84,000 to Rs.23,49,000 depending on the variant you prefer to buy. However, Toyota Rush price in Pakistan starts from Rs.36,60,000 to Rs.37,65,000. Here you clearly see that Honda BRV is available at a much competitive price as compared to Toyota Rush.
Honda BRV features a similar design language like any other seven-seater entry-level SUV by any popular brand automobile manufacturer in Pakistan. On the other hand, Toyota Rush design is also quite similar to the Honda BRV, but Toyota has done a pretty good job in making the design of this SUV. This SUV can go off-road, which is quite impressive as compared to Honda BRV. Toyota Rush has a much muscular design as compared to Honda BRV. I will really like to credit here to Honda that they have really done a great effort in making Honda BRV look like an SUV rather than an MPV. Though, Toyota has taken the lead here, as the new Toyota Rush 2018 looks even more appealing SUV as compared to Honda BRV. Toyota Rush has a 220mm more ground clearance as compared to its rival 201mm, which makes it taller as well.
Though, in terms of length and width, Toyota Rush is quite close to the Honda BRV with just a minor margin. Honda BRV measures 4456x1735x1666mm, while the Toyota Rush measures at 4456x1695x1705mm. The wheelbase of the Honda BRV is 2662mm and of Toyota Rush is 2685mm. By keeping the side differences aside Toyota Rush happens to feature both LED headlights and taillights which is not available in its rival Honda BRV.
As Toyota Rush is a CBU unit, which means that it supports an overall well build interior as compared to its rival Honda BRV. This simply doesn’t mean that Honda BRV has a bad interior in any way. Though, the quality of locally made cars isn’t that good as compared to imported cars and SUVs. But keeping this aside, both the SUVs share almost the same interior space dimensions, which means that the interior space is also the same. It means with all seven seats both the SUVs still have little luggage space. Though, with rearmost seats put down, the consumer gets an ample space to carry your luggage. When we talk about the interior features of Toyota Rush it includes seven airbags, power windows, Hill Start Assist, Digital Climate Control, Rear AC vents, Apple Car Play, Parking sensors, ABS+ EBD braking system, charging ports, Traction control and Smart Entry System. You need to keep in mind that all these features are seen in the international model but most likely not all these features are seen in the local model of the Toyota Rush. It certainly is an advanced car which is equipped with modern features and specs.
Let us now talk about the Honda BRV specifications of interior and its features. The interior features seen in the Honda BRV 2018 include Roof rails, daytime running lights, Steering wheel switch audio control, rear ac vents, driver side SRS airbag, rearview camera, Anti-lock Braking System ABS+ Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), digital air conditioning control and 7-inch infotainment system which supports AUX, Bluetooth and USB.
Engine specifications are considered as one of the most important aspects of these SUVs, as most of the consumer’s first need to know about the engine specs before they decide to buy it. Both these SUVs Honda BRV and Toyota Rush are equipped with 1.5 Liter engines. The 1.5-liter VTEC 4-cylinder engine in the Honda BRV has the capability to produce 118BHP and 145Nm of torque at 4600rpm, while the 1.5 liters 2NR-VE 4 cylinder has the capability to produce 102BHP and 136Nm at 4200rpm which is quite less as compared to its rival. This certainly makes the Honda BRV more powerful as compared to Toyota Rush but in terms of acceleration, there is not a major difference.
Honda BRV comes with the option of CVT or 6-speed transmission whereas Toyota Rush comes with an option of either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed auto transmission. Both the SUVs comes with 4WD drive option.
There is simply no doubt, that the new Toyota Rush 2018 is a much competitive car as compared to its rival Honda BRV. This certainly is a welcome addition to the automotive industry of Pakistan. Toyota Rush comes with different off-road capabilities and offers a much aggressive design. In case you have a financial issue than you can go for the Honda BRV, as it is available at a much competitive price as compared to Toyota Rush.
